Each day is different in the world of interior design. We were out at a granite yard this past week and they were moving slabs around, which is very exciting, but also dangerous. I am posing with my favorite slab in a beautiful orange vest. The marble we selected was installed yesterday and looks fabulous!!!

ASID April Audio-Video Meeting
There is a lot to learn and keep up with regarding the new technology in the "Audio Video" world. We recently attended the April ASID meeting at Intergrated Audio Video in Durham. There showroom is amazing, with wonderful ideas and the latest and greatest technology. Two of my favorite finds were the framed mirrors with the TV behind them and the wall speakers. Good design takes into account all these elements when planning!

HUE RAY FOR COLOR IN NYC!
My recent trip to NYC, as always I am trying to take in all the design details and I noticed an overwhelming pattern of how merchandisers place their items according to color. It all has to do with the value and intensity of the hue. Notice the window display at Saks Fifth Ave. with men ties folded up as the backdrop for the windows. Also, the M&M store at Times Square displayed all the color M&M's by the value and intensity of the hue as well. At the M&M store they also used a primary color display with green mixed in as the original M&M colors. While in Sephora all the nail polish is displayed in the same way. The displays in most stores are done logically with color being a major influence.
