April ASID & Senior Showcase

Some days we're at the office, most days we aren't.

So today was no exception. In between consultation appointments, dropping off stain samples to a client and installing a couple mirrors we stopped by the Carolina Glass /Taps&Latches showroom for the April ASID meeting. The fantastic (and FUN) staff did a great job hosting this month's meeting. Their showroom houses an array of plumbing fixtures, mirrors, frames, hardware, glass displays and usage. They have quickly become our go-to for no-hassle, beautifully & professionally installed products. We got a behind the scene's look at their glass department as well...

Left
: The glass kilm is where all custom glass pieces and vanity tops go to bake. Designs can be raked in the sand at bottom of the kilm which then become texture & pattern in the glass after completing the process.
Right: The polishing machine smooths and polishes all edges and corners of the glass.
Below: Don't worry mom, its not a tanning bed. Mike demonstrates the glass washing & drying machine. For all of your glass laundry.

And our favorite part:
Custom glass painting.
We used this in a client's master bath. True Story. It's cool.

Left: The super-duty glass (and motorcycle) painting booth.
Right: Showroom Display of orange and white painted glass. The "legs" of the display demonstrate no-iron glass which is the clearest glass- no green tints.

Then we dropped by our alma mater, Meredith College for the Senior Showcase. During the College's Day of Celebration, the interior design department features graduating seniors and their portfolios of work. It's always fun to see the upcoming talent on display, as well as chat & reminisce with our professors about the good 'ol days...

Best of Luck to all of the talented Seniors!

Spring Furniture Market

Well we made it again, through the exhausting yet fun week in High Point. Here are just a few pictures of two of our clients sitting on upholstery to see how it would work for their lifestyles and homes. We will have more photos of other items we found during our week. Once again we found so many beautiful things! Check back tomorrow to see more......

What a cute little ottoman/accent piece to be pulled in for additional seating and it is very comfty!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth

Today we celebrated for Elizabeth's birthday. A great group of friends, co-workers, and family joined us to wish the birthday girl a happy day. We have so much fun at work and we are thankful to have the people in our lives that make it fun! We also all had a lesson from Elizabeth on "the proper way to eat a cupcake". She is getting good at this!!!

The Early Bird gets the... recliner?

High Point's Spring Furniture Market is right around the corner...

And we wanted the sneak peak a month early, well not exactly. Our clients are on a quick time frame with a new house in the works, and we needed them to test drive a few upholstery pieces before market. Some of the showrooms in High Point are open on Wednesdays, and so we took full advantage of this yesterday. Most of the showrooms are currently discombobulated, and in the process of preparing for Market.

We found a few places to perch in the Hickory White showroom.

We also utilized the resource library in Pearson's showroom and then traveled across town to their factory to sit on a few pieces coming off the line.

Perfect recliner found. Mission accomplished.
