Getting Ready for..........Summertime, Summertime

INTERIOR design is not always for INTERIOR. Yesterday we installed a screened in porch for one of my first clients ever. She helped me when I first started and has stuck with me through the years. Now are are designing the only space left; the outside. You can see the before and after above.

We had help from our Designing Dog Fudge as well! She had to go on this job as she could play outside while her mommy worked!

Bathroom Before & After

Even tho
ugh the best part of this "before" was the matching wallpaper in the adjoining bedroom...we had to let it go. We opted for Schumacher's shimmery Manor Gate as a replacement and accented it with Currey & Co's beautiful Pinto Pendant. A metallic Candice Olson fabric provides a sleek new shower curtain and we have a sparkling transformation.

Happy New Year!
So it slightly resembles the ball drop, but we're diggin' it :)

Happy Easter and Spring!

As I am writing this I am listening to the birds chirping which is a sound Spring is upon us. As all the Easter baskets, eggs and dresses were out this past weekend. I found some awesome exterior paint colors that reminded me of Easter. I love how the colors are fresh and how they were combined with the shutter colors. Design is always around us; how adventurous will you be with your paint color selections?

April ASID & Senior Showcase

Some days we're at the office, most days we aren't.

So today was no exception. In between consultation appointments, dropping off stain samples to a client and installing a couple mirrors we stopped by the Carolina Glass /Taps&Latches showroom for the April ASID meeting. The fantastic (and FUN) staff did a great job hosting this month's meeting. Their showroom houses an array of plumbing fixtures, mirrors, frames, hardware, glass displays and usage. They have quickly become our go-to for no-hassle, beautifully & professionally installed products. We got a behind the scene's look at their glass department as well...

Left
: The glass kilm is where all custom glass pieces and vanity tops go to bake. Designs can be raked in the sand at bottom of the kilm which then become texture & pattern in the glass after completing the process.
Right: The polishing machine smooths and polishes all edges and corners of the glass.
Below: Don't worry mom, its not a tanning bed. Mike demonstrates the glass washing & drying machine. For all of your glass laundry.

And our favorite part:
Custom glass painting.
We used this in a client's master bath. True Story. It's cool.

Left: The super-duty glass (and motorcycle) painting booth.
Right: Showroom Display of orange and white painted glass. The "legs" of the display demonstrate no-iron glass which is the clearest glass- no green tints.

Then we dropped by our alma mater, Meredith College for the Senior Showcase. During the College's Day of Celebration, the interior design department features graduating seniors and their portfolios of work. It's always fun to see the upcoming talent on display, as well as chat & reminisce with our professors about the good 'ol days...

Best of Luck to all of the talented Seniors!
